I was honored to create the scroll for Count Rǫndólfr ormstunga lǫgmaðr, when he stepped down from his first reign as King. Designed and painted by me, based on stones found in Sweden’s Köpingsvik’s church and what we know of Norse runestone coloration. Words by Ollam Lanea inghean Uí Chiaragáin. Fuller writeup to come.

Under the jutting seat of the sun,
where the waves crash on our shore,
This defender of Atlantia served as both
A ring giving reconciler of the folksvaldi
And Osprey feeding helm-shaker.
Let him rest now, and another lift this burden
From the Hawk’s seat.

Jarl Rǫndólfr strides the shoreline, 
Eyes blazing, tensed for battle,
Shore beast’s bane – Kraken’s kin

Sepia-stained raiment
Drapes the battered shoulders, 
Sun bleached woolen girdle
Binding his cloak of Skogul–
Encircling him–the heroe’s mark. 
Pelting rain drenches all 
the wave-hewing raven feeders
Vying for Atlantia’s throne

Name him Jarl Rǫndólfr Ormstunga Lǫgmaðr
