anubh’s laurel

I had so much fun creating Mistress Anubh de Mona’s Laurel scroll. Design, metal- and woodworking by me, based on extant Iron Age Celtic cauldron fragments and La Tène metalwork as well as extant ogham-bearing artifacts. Words by Etaíne na Preachain. Fuller writeup still to come.

A triskele blue upon a silver egg in field of azure
Signs Anauved of Mona. Like Cerridwen, she tends cauldrons,
brings new life to ancient knowledge: past-age feasts reborn.
Bark seethes, to bend and mark with linden stitch.
From wort well-stirred with spoon made quick by forest gifts,
She brews to welcome guests and gladden hearts.
Near Lughnasadh, this 6th of August, A.S. LX,
Atlantia’s monarchs Abran and Anya, on her bright head bestow
the Order of the Laurel.
